Please register by January 18 for the 2019 General Assembly.

Roller coasters, fishing boats, and migrating birds bring thousands of visitors to northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Those tourists buy fishing licenses, binoculars, and services. The keynote presentation at this year’s assembly will provide a better understanding of Lake Erie’s role in travel, tourism, and economic development.

This meeting also includes the election of the chair, vice chair, and the executive committee as well as caucus sessions with peer groups.

The impact of Lake Erie on travel, tourism, and economic development in our region

Melinda Huntley
The Ohio Travel Association is active in promoting the $44 billion travel economy. Ensuring a healthy Lake Erie is part of that work, and the association works to make sure decision makers at all levels understand the economic contributions of a strong travel economy and the lake. The association is also involved with workforce development initiatives, developing the capacity of communities to create agritourism and nature tourism strategies among others, and addressing tax and other policy issues that can impact traveler attraction and spending.
