Transportation has been a hot topic in the TMACOG region lately. With federal stimulus dollars coming to the region, projects are developing quickly and local organizations need to be informed and prepared. The annual Transportation Summit is an opportunity for regional businesses, governments, and other transportation stakeholders to get together to hear the latest news and to discuss opportunities and challenges.
The TMACOG Transportation Summit will be Friday, March 19, in the Grand Lobby of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza. Current plans call for presentations on rail and intermodal transportation, including rail car construction, and a look at upcoming transportation legislation and funding. Workshops will address regional collaboration on transportation projects, and potential impact of greenhouse reduction bills on the transportation system. Attendees will also provide input on the update of the 2035 Plan, TMACOG’s long range transportation plan.
