Ohio EPA to Certify Regional 208 Plan
Northwest Ohio communities that are part of the Areawide Water Quality Management Plan (the 208 Plan) completed a thorough revision of the plan in 2008. That plan was approved by the TMACOG Board of Trustees. Now the Ohio EPA is on target to certify it. When a region’s 208 Plan is certified, the director of the Ohio EPA cannot legally approve a permit for sewers or treatment facilities that are in conflict with it. The 208 Plan is continually revised as communities grow or invest in facilities to attract industry. The next update is well underway.
