Transportation Summit - March 19
TMACOG’s annual Transportation Summit provides a forum for discussion of a wide range of transportation issues in the western Lake Erie region. Transportation planners, engineers, elected officials, economic developers, business and industry representatives, and other community leaders will benefit from this one-day program of presentations and workshops.

Registration and the complete agenda are online. The fee to attend all activities including luncheon is $40 members, $60 non-members, and $25 students. To attend presentations and workshops only (no meal): $25 members, $35 non-members.
The morning presentations include a discussion of the economic impacts of rail and intermodal facilities. Presenters will talk about the potential for a new rail car manufacturing industry, and look at how intermodal freight facilities will affect road and rail traffic. Next on the agenda will be election of members of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Committee.
||Those attending the luncheon session are asked to prepare to participate by reviewing the 2035 Plan before the Transportation Summit. This interactive session will include a review of the plan and will solicit suggestions. Dr. Clinton Longenecker, professor of management and business administration, University of Toledo, and author of Two-Minute Drill will moderate. There will be prizes for the best ideas!
In the afternoon sessions, attendees can choose from two con current workshops: aworking session on how governments can work together to reduce transportation system-related costs; and a session on sustainable communities that will look at a vision for downtown Toledo, and the City of Sylvania’s river trail and bikeway plan.
