Safety Measures Report Complete

The most dangerous time of day for accidents in Toledo and Wood County is between 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., especially on Fridays. The youngest drivers are by far involved in the most accidents and in the most serious accidents. These are just some of the findings in the comprehensive report recently completed by consultants the Mannik & Smith Group through a contract with TMACOG. The 305-page report is an analysis of high accident intersections and road sections. In addition to time of day and age of driver, accidents were examined by location, road type, type of accident, type of vehicles, and many other factors.

The Safety Locations and Measures Report is intended to be a resource for local jurisdictions. Local engineers and planners can use the report to identify, analyze, and recommend changes at high accident traffic locations in the communities and townships of Lucas and Wood counties. The report looked at those roads that are not part of the Ohio, U.S., or freeway system. These state and federal routes are studied by ODOT every year.

The following charts show the highest ranked intersections and road sections for 2007-2009. The full report details how the rank was determined and the types of crashes.
