May 9 Public Meeting: Updates to 208 Plan
Water Quality Management Plans (called 208 Plans) are updated regularly to account for new development and changes to sewerage systems. In Ohio, there are six area-wide plans. TMACOG’s planning area covers Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Wood counties in Ohio; and Bedford, Erie, and Whiteford townships in Monroe County, Michigan. The 208 Plan for the TMACOG region was last updated in June, 2011 and approved by all partners and by the TMACOG Board of Trustees. It was sent to the state for certification.
A public meeting is part of that state review process. The Director of Environmental Protection has announced that a public hearing on the proposed 208 Plan update for all regions will be held to consider public comments. This hearing will be held at 10 a.m., May 9, 2012 at the Ohio EPA Central Office , 50 W. Town St., Ste. 700, Conference Room A, Columbus, OH 43215. The public comment period will run until 5 p.m. on May 9, 2012. Written comments are also welcomed. Written testimony should be sent to the attention of Elizabeth Bailik at the Division of Surface Water, P.O. Box 1049, Columbus, Ohio 43216-1049.
For questions regarding this public notice, please contact Elizabeth Bailik, at the Division of Surface Water (DSW), at 614.644.2039 or via e-mail. The proposed 208 Plan update is available for review at the Ohio EPA central office or on the DSW Web site here.
