The fiscal year 2014-17 Transportation Improvement Program (the TIP) has been voted on and approved by the Transportation Council and the TMACOG Executive Committee. The approving resolution affirms that the TIP was developed consistent with the goals, policies, projects, and strategies of the “On the Move: 2007-2035 Transportation Plan–Update 2011.” It is also fiscally constrained and conforms to requirements for air quality. A PDF of the final TIP is here. It is free to review or print.
A new TIP is prepared every second year. Projects are submitted by governments and agencies in the TMACOG planning area of Lucas and Wood counties. The TIP Committee then evaluates, ranks, and schedules the projects to best allocate federal transportation funds in the region and move projects to completion efficiently and effectively.
Concurrently with the approval of the FY 2014-2017 TIP, the Executive Committee approved the first amendment to the TIP. This amendment proposes that the City of Toledo Safe Routes to School Travel Plan be funded through the new federal Transportation Alternatives program. A travel plan must be completed before grants can be submitted to the Safe Routes for School program.
