2013 Bike Month
May was national Bike Month and TMACOG promoted local events that encouraged safe cycling and the use of a bicycle for regular commuting to work or school. Local events in 2013 were developed around the theme “Bike to the Right, Go with the Flow.” T-shirts showed the message that bikers are safest when they ride in the street, with the flow of traffic. See photos from the 2013 events here.
The TMACOG Pedestrian and Bikeways Committee works to ensure that walking and cycling facilities are included in all transportation plans, both new construction and rehabilitation. The committee webpages include information about regional bike facilities, Ohio laws regarding bicycles, and a printable Bicycle Facilities Guide. The pedestrian and bikeways webpages are also the source of information about the ongoing development of the Chessie Circle Trail (previously the Westside Corridor). All Pedestrian and Bikeways committee meetings are open to the public. Meetings are the third Tuesday, January, April, July, and October.
