Member Survey Results
In response to member comments and requests, TMACOG recently distributed a survey to the entire TMACOG membership asking for their ideas about shared services. Forty-three members (out of 145 total membership) responded. Eighty-eight percent are elected or appointed officials. Most of the rest are other public employees. Local Cyclist Honored
Pat Squire, long-time member of TMACOG and lifetime cyclist, has been honored with the Horace M. Huffman Award from the Ohio Bicycle Federation. The presentation to Ms. Squire was part of the March 22 Transportation Summit. The City of Bowling Green was also recognized by the federation with the Cyclist Friendly Community Award...read more



Ohio Conference on Freight

Region’s Newest Trail is Named
The 11.6-mile railroad right-of-way purchased for development in Lucas and Wood counties as a bike/hike trail has been officially named the Chessie Circle Trail by the operating partners. Called the Westside Corridor before the property was acquired, the new name is a tribute to the trail’s rail history and Toledo’s railroad culture...read more



Public Hearing – Turnpike

The Ohio Turnpike Commission confirmed public hearings on a plan to increase tolls. The plan calls for a 2.7 percent increase on January 1 each year starting in 2014 and lasting through 2023. After that, toll increases will be tied to the rate of inflation.

The public meeting for northwest Ohio is Monday, May 13, 5:30 p.m., at the Maumee Municipal Building, 400 Conant St., Maumee.

Ozone Action Season
May - September

TMACOG and the City of Toledo Division of Environmental Services partner during Ozone Action Season to keep the public informed and to try to reduce the amount of ozone precursors produced locally. Public Meeting: Water Quality
Management Plan

A public meeting will be held Tuesday, May 7 at 6 p.m. in the TMACOG Boardroom to review updates to the Areawide Water Quality Management Plan (the 208 Plan).

Communities in Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Wood counties in Ohio and Bedford, Erie, and Whiteford townships of Monroe County, Michigan cooperate to maintain the 208 Plan to ensure that sewer infrastructure plans are coordinated and that we meet the standards of the Clean Water Act. Meetings have been held in all five counties and local changes and agreements have been consolidated in the update. Following public review, the plan will be presented at the Environmental Council meeting May 23 at 1:30 p.m. in the TMACOG Boardroom. For questions, contact Kurt Erichsen at 419.241.9155 ext. 126.

The Northwestern Water & Sewer District (NWSD) is a regional governmental agency operating under ORC 6119 that builds and maintains water and sewer service for customers in Wood County. The district was organized in 1994 to assume the water and sewer operations of the Wood County Sanitary Engineer’s Office.
