Required Stormwater Training Offered
Jurisdictions with stormwater permits are required to provide staff training as part of their stormwater management plan. The five-year permit period is about to expire and those who still need to complete the training are invited to attend a workshop to satisfy that requirement. TMACOG’s Pollution Prevention & Good Housekeeping Workshop is Tuesday, November 19, 8:15 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Lucas County Sanitary Engineer Facility, 1111 S. McCord, Holland.
Registration is required and space is limited. Call TMACOG Environmental Planning Secretary Joy Minarcin 419.241.9155 ext. 128. Registration fee is $20 for Stormwater Coalition member jurisdictions, $40 for non-members. Deadline for all registrants is November 7. No refunds will be given after November 13.
The agenda will cover the proper disposal of hazardous and solid waste, detection of illicit discharges, proper materials storage, and maintenance activities. There will be practice inspections to help prepare for actual inspections. Attendees will take home resource materials to help meet EPA requirements for documentation and training. Professional Engineers earn continuing education credits. Breakfast and lunch are included. For more information or to join the Stormwater Coalition, contact Kari Gerwin, TMACOG stormwater planner, 419.241.9155 ext. 103.
