Pollution Prevention Workshop
To meet stormwater permits, local jurisdictions are required to provide training for some municipal workers. TMACOG is hosting a workshop Tuesday, November 19 that will satisfy the requirement and provide training on ways to prevent stormwater pollution that could occur during routine municipal operations and maintenance.
The agenda will include presentations on proper disposal of hazardous and solid waste, detection of illicit discharges, proper materials storage, and maintenance activities. Speakers on the agenda will represent the Ohio EPA, local health districts, and soil and water conservation districts. Attendees will be provided with materials and tools for successful implementation of good housekeeping practices at their facilities.
The workshop will be held at the Lucas County Sanitary Engineers Facility on South McCord. Stormwater Coalition members will receive more information by e-mail. The cost of the workshop will be $20 for Stormwater Coalition members and $40 for non-members and will include lunch and a program manual.
