Two Days of Train Day Toledo
Join one of the country’s largest celebrations of trains and train travel on Saturday, May 3. And you are invited to a preview party on Friday evening, May 2.
National Train Day Toledo is a free, family-friendly event. Attractions are trackside at the Toledo Amtrak station and indoors on the main level of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza. Train Day begins at 9:30 a.m. with public remarks from elected officials and railroad executives. Then visit the model train layouts in the Grand Lobby, enjoy food, games, and kids’ rides trackside at the Amtrak station. Tour new passenger rail cars and see freight locomotives, including a New York Central "Heritage" engine from Norfolk Southern.
There is no admission cost and parking is free. There will be a shuttle running from the Owens-Corning parking lot to Train Day.
The Northwest Ohio Passenger Rail Association (NOPRA) and the statewide advocacy group All Aboard Ohio are hosting Friday Night by the Tracks on Friday, May 2, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tickets are $30/person or $50/couple and benefit NOPRA and All Aboard Ohio. The party includes live music, special guided tours of the train cars and locomotive, food, and a cash bar.
