Visit TMACOG and Find out What Happens Next
Following elections and the first calendar year meeting of governments, TMACOG invites newly elected officials and all members to learn about the resources available to their jurisdiction through their membership. You are invited to the open house, and a special presentation, at the TMACOG offices Tuesday, February 18, 3-6 p.m.
This year the orientation includes a presentation by Spengler Nathanson PLL on what you need to know about Ohio’s open meetings laws. The presentation will cover the definition of public meetings and executive sessions, obligations, and liabilities. This training is different from the Sunshine Law training that is offered by the Ohio Attorney General’s office in April. That meeting covers public records and responding to requests for records.
Even for members who regularly attend TMACOG events, this open house will review resources available to you. The TMACOG website has been reorganized and we’ll walk you through the navigation. You will also meet senior staff and learn how staff can help your jurisdiction or organization. There is no charge but please let us know if you will attend. Contact: Jennifer Allen, 419.241.9155 ext. 107.

Complete Streets Policy in Development
The philosophy of Complete Streets is that the surface transportation system should serve all members of the community - from drivers of cars, trucks, buses, and emergency vehicles, to cyclists, pedestrians, people using mobility aids, and school children and others using buses. While the Complete Streets idea has been part of discussion and planning processes for many years, TMACOG is developing a policy to incorporate the concept into the regional transportation planning process. The policy is under development but should be completed in March and will be available at the Transportation Summit, Friday, April 11......read more

TMACOG freight planners and members of the TMACOG Freight Advisory Committee are reviewing the FHWA draft and preparing comments. The TMACOG region is Lucas and Wood counties in Ohio and southern Monroe County, Michigan...read more
