Clean Ohio Committee Makes Recommendations, Seeks New Members

The Clean Ohio Fund has allocated $1,268,954 for the preservation of open space in Lucas County. The Natural Resources Assistance Council (NRAC) that administers the fund in Lucas County met at TMACOG April 23, 2014 to review applications for the fund. Five proposals were submitted. Based on the established methodology, the NRAC committee recommended funding projects in the following order:

Metroparks - Oak Openings Expansion
Metroparks - Monclova Swamp Forest
Metroparks - Eber Barrens

For any project approved, a 25 percent minimum local match is required.

Since 2001, Clean Ohio funds have returned nearly $8 million dollars to Lucas County for protecting more than 1,850 acres of open spaces and wetlands.
