The Clean Ohio Fund is a $400 million state bond initiative first approved by voters in 2000. In Lucas County, these projects have returned more than $8 million dollars for the protection of open spaces and wetlands. To date, the Clean Ohio Fund has preserved 28 natural areas in Lucas County, including the Kitty Todd Nature Preserve, expanding the Oak Openings Metropark, the Sylvan Prairie Park, and land which doubled the size of Pearson Metropark.
