Shared Services for Water and Sewer
||Smaller communities can often find efficiencies when they work together to jointly build, fund, and operate water and sewer systems. A one-day seminar will cover the practical issues involved. The Shared Services program is Friday, February 27, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Owens Community College. The keynote speaker is Craig Butler, director of the Ohio EPA.

The program is valuable for mayors, council members, boards of public utilities, and personnel responsible for managing water and sewerage systems. Topics include working with multiple funding agencies, options for regional collaboration, and examples of how local governments can ease barriers to shared water and sewer services. Speakers include representatives from the Ohio EPA, Ohio Public Works Commission, Ohio Water Development Authority, RCAP, sanitary engineers, and regional water and sewer district representatives.
The program is presented by TMACOG with members of Small Community Environmental Infrastructure Group (SCEIG). The program is sponsored by Jones & Henry, Ltd. and the Ohio Water Development Authority.
