Train Day Toledo is May 7

This one-day celebration of trains and train travel returns Saturday, May 7, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Events are at the Toledo Amtrak Station (415 Emerald St.) and upstairs at the Grand Lobby. There is no admission and parking is free at the Port Lawrence parking garage at St. Clair and Jefferson in downtown Toledo. A shuttle connects to the Amtrak station.

Start with the opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. where you will hear news from railroad executives and area elected officials. Then the doors are open all day in the Grand Lobby on the third floors and trackside on the ground floor for fun and education.

New this year, a special appearance by Norfolk Southern locomotive #911,
   a tribute to first responders
