Water Quality Council Special Presentations
The September 8 meeting of the TMACOG Water Quality Council was moved to the Grand Lobby of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Plaza to accommodate attendees on hand to hear two special presentations. The council heard from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers who described the beneficial use of material that is regularly dredged from the Maumee River shipping channel. The Toledo-Lucas County Sustainability Commission presented a new Sources and Amounts of Phosphorus Nutrient Source Inventory Tool. Lucas County Commissioner Tina Skeldon-Wozniak, Sustainability Commission representative Melissa Greene, and CEC Consultant & Senior Project Manager Tim Murphy gave the presentation and took questions.
In the center, Carol Contrada, Lucas County commissioner and chair of the TMACOG Water Quality Council; and Craig Stough, mayor of the City of Sylvania and TMACOG chair, with representatives of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the September 8 meeting.
