TIP Public Meeting and Public Comment
There is still time to comment on TMACOG’s short range transportation plan. The public comment period for the Transportation Improvement Program (the TIP) runs through April 7, 2017. The TIP describes what transportation projects are coming up in northwest Ohio, how they are funded, and when they are programmed. Interested people can review the documents online or attend a public meeting.
The last public meeting is April 4, 2017, 3-6 p.m., at ODOT District Two offices in Bowling Green, 317 E. Poe Rd., Bowling Green, OH 43402. Comments can also be supplied by mail (PO Box 9508, Toledo OH 43697-9508), by phone (419.241.9155 ext. 115), or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org). The TIP document (PDF) is here. The related map is here. This year, the map is interactive. Interested people can review the projects and click on specific projects to leave a comment.
The TIP is created and managed by a broad committee that prioritizes and scores projects presented by local jurisdictions. Projects that are the most urgent, that will serve the most people, and are ready to go become top priorities. The measured criteria include amount of local support, bridge and road condition, accident rates, and interconnectivity between modes. All criteria are described in the TIP document.
TMACOG encourages input from stakeholders of the entire region of Lucas and Wood counties. A plan that works for everyone is one that is informed by everyone’s needs.
