Harroun Park Watershed Education

Students and teachers and elected officials from the City of Sylvania and Lucas County learned more about Harroun Community Park at a hands-on educational event October 5, 2012. The occasion was the unveiling of a new sign designed by students from Northview High School but the program also included examination of macroinvertebrates, information about wetlands, a lesson on the impact of the emerald ash borer, and a tree planting project.

The Harroun event was the conclusion of a grant TMACOG secured through the Ohio Environmental Education Fund. That grant created permanent educational signage at Harroun Park in Sylvania, International Park and Pearson Metropark in Toledo, Olander Park in Sylvania Township, and at Harvest Ditch in Springfield Township.
