Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Committee

Purpose: The purpose of the committee is to encourage and enable all appropriate agencies within the TMACOG region to efficiently and effectively secure and invest available federal transportation funds to improve transportation facilities and services in this district.

Activities: This committee reviews funding requests for federal assistance in the development and implementation of various transportation projects. The four year Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is updated and published every two years.

Transportation Alternatives Committee (formerly Transportation Enhancement)
The Transportation Alternatives Committee (click for member list) reviews and ranks "alternatives" projects in Lucas and Wood counties for this federal funding program. It forwards its recommendations to the TIP Committee. Eligible projects include bicycle and pedestrian facilities, Safe Routes to School-related plans and projects, environmental improvements, and restoring historic transportation facilities. A call for applications is usually scheduled for every other year.
