Purpose: The Planning Committee recommends to the Transportation Council actions, programs and policies that support investment in and improvement of our region’s transportation system coordinated through the Regional Transportation Planning process. This includes overseeing development of and amendments to the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) and supporting community awareness and implementation of the plan. The committee also provides recommendations on ODOT/MDOT major projects, the TMACOG Annual Work Program, special high priority corridor projects, special needs studies and all other efforts affecting investment in the transportation system and related economic development efforts of our area.

Activities: In 2007, the committee (expanded into the 2035 Task Force) completed the new multimodal regional plan, the "On the Move: 2007-2035 Transportation Plan." The committee is now working on plan implementation and measuring the success of the plan. For more information, go to the 2035 Plan page.
