TMACOG and partners in Ohio and Michigan have prepared a TMACOG Tech program focusing on a comprehensive economic development strategy for northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.
Save the date for Friday, October 16, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
This TMACOG Tech will be at the Monroe Bank & Trust office,
10 Washington St., Monroe MI, 48161.
The program will look at opportunities presented by the widening of I-75 in both states. A site consultant will explain how communities can become engaged in business site selection.

All elected officials are required to attend (or designate an agent to attend) three hours of training on Ohio’s public records and open meetings laws during each elected term. The seminar includes information on maintaining public records, advertising open meetings, and responding to requests for records. Training is provided by the Ohio Attorney General’s office at no charge.

Held October 16, the collaboration and shared services session included details of a fleet services agreement with TARTA and Toledo Public Schools, the Lake County shared equipment agreement with 20 jurisdictions, and the formation and operation of the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District.

The May 31 session was a half-day program with a keynote address by Edward M. Burghard, CEO of the Burghard Group, LLC and former executive director of the Ohio Business Development Coalition. Additional program support was provided by JobsOhio, the Ohio Economic Development Association, and Northwest Ohio Regional Economic Development Association (NORED).
Ohio Sunshine Law Training
TMACOG has brought this required training session to northwest Ohio for the last few years. The 2013 session was held March 8. Training is provided by the Ohio Attorney General’s office at no charge at this TMACOG Tech session.
H3O - A Story in 3 Parts - Water & Wastewater Management
This program, directed at managers of public utilities, was one of a series of workshops designed to build expertise in elected and appointed officials. The all-day seminar was held February 8. Jones & Henry Engineers, Ltd, provided additional support for H3O.
