Vanpooling

Vanpooling consists of groups of seven to fifteen people who agree to share expenses for the use of a van to drive to and from work each day. Vanpooling is an excellent alternative to driving alone. It can eliminate the worries about vehicle reliability, traffic and the monotony of the daily commute. In a vanpool, the time can instead be spent relaxing, napping, visiting or working. This allows you to arrive at your job ready for work.

Vans are provided by VanOhio on a convenient thirty day pay as you go program. Riders pay an average of $70 per month for the use of the van and fuel. VanOhio pays the cost of the insurance and maintenance.

The vanpool driver is a volunteer, recruited from the group. In exchange for driving, collecting monthly fees and arranging vehicle maintenance, the driver rides free of charge and may use the van for limited personal use after work and on weekends.

Vanpooling is a better way to start the day. To enjoy the convenience of sharing a ride, fill out the registration form or call Share A Ride at 419/241-1919.
